On this day, our team, the Young Avengers went to MacArthur park as a practice day for our survey. It was good overall, we got to experience how it was asking strangers to fill out the surveys. There were some concerns such as water pollution, and a lot of trash around the park. On the other hand, there was a lot of kids playing soccer in the grassy area, and adults enjoying sunshine in the park. Although this community faces many challenges, there were many people at the park that were involved in activities but still came up to us to ask us what the Promise Zone was. To me, this meant that the people that I live around want to see improvements in their community. I believe that this summer as part of the Young Ethnographer Program, we can provide that for them.
